Day 1: Water activities and city discovery

Auckland, the city of sails

Auckland is a paradise for nature lovers and water sports enthusiasts: sailing, kayaking, surfing or jet-skiing. Enjoying a sailboat ride in Auckland Harbour is as unforgettable an experience as walking through its dormant volcanoes, Mount Eden or One Tree Hill.  Auckland is a green city, surrounded by hills, where the flora and fauna run free to impress its visitors.

Between the sea and the mountains, in the heart of the All-Black’s culture

Built on the sea and surrounded by numerous volcanoes, Auckland is considered one of the most pleasant cities in the Southern Hemisphere. The 'City of Sails' has a vibrant arts scene and cultural festivals abound. Beautiful beaches, nearby vineyards and an infectious joie de vivre make it one of the most visited cities in the Pacific. The pride of its inhabitants in its sporting heritage and the tribal culture of the All Blacks is also felt at the events organised at Eden Park, the mythical stadium where you can watch the best rugby matches.

Day 2: Waterfront strolling and thrills

Auckland's waterfront charm

Auckland is a thriving economic and industrial capital and is often referred to as the 'Sydney' of New Zealand. Made up of some 50 islands and surrounded by volcanic hills, the city's spectacular scenery makes it an attractive place to visit. The sea is omnipresent, and its impressive harbour is home to magnificent yachts and its prestigious regattas have contributed to its reputation. Enjoy a stroll along the waterfront and imagine yourself captaining one of these boats before sitting down to a seafood platter at Princes Wharf.

Urban atmosphere

For those who like a thrill, head for the Harbour Bridge where you can bungee jump or for the vertiginous Sky Tower which dominates the city to practice free fall! Less dangerous, but just as exhilarating, is a visit to the liveliest district, Queen Street, with its shops and numerous restaurants.

Day 3: A cultural and artistic heritage still rooted in the city

Art and culture

Auckland also offers a rich cultural heritage, nourished by its Maori heritage and European influences, to be discovered in its museums, including the unmissable Auckland Museum. As a family, plan a trip to the Auckland Viaduct to see the Auckland Maritime Museum. It will take you on a journey back in time through the display of old ships that contributed to the development of the archipelago. Finish your trip with a naval tour of Auckland Harbour offered by the museum.
